Precision Components

Along with high-performance materials, Omniseal Solutions provides precision components, which fall under the following brand families.

Omniseal® Polymers: The power of polymer becomes evident when you need a sealing, wear, or friction control solution. Comprised of spring-energized seals, rotary lip seals, bearings, piston rings and other components, these solutions are engineered for a variety of applications due to their broad versatility and reliability.

Spring-energized seals are used in ultra-low friction and extreme hot or cryogenic temperatures. Available in four designs with a standard or skived lip, they have unlimited shelf-life compared to conventional seals. Developed in the 1950s to provide improved performance over soft elastomers and hard metal gaskets, they made a successful impact in aviation turbine engines and space launch vehicles. The rotary lip or shaft seal solution goes back 40 years, becoming a critical part of aviation, life science, and industrial markets. Created to bridge the gap between elastomer lip seals and mechanical seals, this sealing solution is valued for its temperature resistance, self-lubrication properties, high wear resistance, and inertness to chemical attack.

Omniseal® Metals: If you need an axial, face, or custom design metal sealing solution, Omniseal Solutions is your right partner. These critical parts are specifically engineered for sealing control in challenging and extreme applications such as those seen in space and nuclear due to their elastic recovery or springback. They also come with a coating, plating or finish to take care of small imperfections in the mating hardware, enhancing seal performance. We manufacture machined metal seals as well as formed metal seals in a variety of sizes and shapes.

Metal Machined Seals

Machined seals are excellent metal seal solutions for high pressure and high load environments but are different from formed metal seal solutions in that they do not require additional tooling to be manufactured, which saves our customers time and cost. In addition, with our flexible capabilities and expertise to understand your machined metal seal requests, we can provide you the best resistant metal seal solution - from aluminium to complex nickel alloys.

Metal Segmented & Shaped Seals

Our metal segmented seals include standard E-Seals, V-Seals and multi-convolution E-Seals. Size is a determining factor for number of segments needed; customers typically use two to eight segments but the seals can be customized to requirements. With seals that have large diameters such as those used in power generation applications (in shroud and turbine sections), when segmented, customers can reduce shipping costs. This design also allows our team to make higher deflection profiles. Many segmented seals use our proprietary NCCM coating to help with wear.

Omniseal® Spring-Energized Seals

Polymer Seals with Metal Springs

Omniseal® spring-energized seals are composed of two precision parts: a PTFE or polymer jacket and a corrosion-resistant, metal energizer spring. With an unlimited shelf-life compared to conventional seals, the seals provide improved performance over soft elastomeric seals and hard metal gaskets that typically fail.

Used in
static & dynamic sealing (face/radial), cryogenic & high temperatures
Temperature

-268°C to +316°C (-450°F to +600°F)

Pressure

from vacuum up to 50,000 psi (3448 bar)

Max Speed

Up to 1 m/s

Clamping Load

Omniseal® Diaphragms

Fluoropolymer Diaphragms For Valves & Pumps

Omniseal® diaphragms are designed to offer long life time in the harshest environment; therefore, only high-performance materials are used in order to provide an excellent compromise between chemical compatibility and mechanical properties: Virgin PTFE and Modified PTFE.

Used in
areas to replace low friction hydraulic seals & standard O-Rings
Temperature

from -240°C to +280°C (-400°F to +536°F), temperature is dependent on materials selected in design phase of pump or valve diaphragm

Pressure

145 psi (10 bar) maximum for pump & valve diaphragm

Max Speed

High speed & frequency (pump)

Low speed & frequency for closing and opening (valve)
