A Commitment from Omniseal Solutions
While the group's commitment is important, what about the actions and commitment from Omniseal Solutions?
Solutions for Renewable Energy
Example: low fugitive emission (LFE) seals
Omniseal Solutions is committed to helping organizations make advancements in renewable energy. Even within the oil and gas industry, the teams work to design and manufacture sealing solutions to be more environmentally sound such as our low fugitive emission (LFE) seal.

The company has been working with wind energy for many years, a technology that is affordable, clean and sustainable. Axial Omniseal® spring energized seals are used in the gearbox, making sure the windmill is as maintenance-free as possible so it can continue generating energy for the many households that need it. A few of the benefits:
- Inhouse wear tests show the seal lasts for 20 years operating, which reduces maintenance cost.
- The PTFE material is optimal for non-lubricated applications and does not alter thus reducing the number of failures compared to elastomer seals.

Widespread Energy Storage Services
Partnering with Stem Inc.
The Garden Grove site houses the Omniseal Solutions, Fluid Systems and Sekurit businesses, which manufacture sealing and polymer solutions, tubing products and automotive glazing products respectively. The site’s system joined the world’s largest network of energy storage systems, owned by Stem, which enables customers like Omniseal Solutions to participate in a marketplace of additional utility-facing services when the system is not needed onsite. When heatwaves and wildfires strain the grid, Stem’s systems are dispatched repeatedly, providing Southern California Edison additional power needed in the highly-congested West Los Angeles basin.

Since commencing the energy storage operation in July 2018, the Garden Grove site has participated numerous times in heat wave relief in addition to performing onsite energy bill savings.
Eduardo Martinez, Facilities Manager at the Garden Grove site, said, “As a global manufacturing site that is focused on environment, health and safety, we are always looking to make sustainable changes to protect the environment and Stem’s artificial intelligence is a key part of our energy conservation initiatives.”
“Saint-Gobain is a recognized leader in sustainability planning and innovation,” said John Carrington, CEO of Stem, Inc. “We’re proud to support industrial leaders like these who want to strategically invest in Stem’s Athena AI platform to enhance their energy management—without intervention in their operations—allowing them to focus on what they do best.”

Recycling in Space
Trends & Innovation
One of the key drivers in the space market is the use of renewable parts. Omniseal Solutions has developed (and is further innovating and improving) seals on feeding lines to tanks. In the past these seals needed to be changed at every launch and are now being reused over and over This of course cuts down on waste, reduces the impact on the environment and of course saves the customer money!

When a seal is protecting astronauts from an explosion from a fuel line leak, there can be no errors and no quality issues. Why then, is there a push for recyclable parts? Put simply, cost. Every time a rocket is launched, there could be literally thousands of seals installed on the rocket. If each seal has to be removed and replaced before each rocket can take off, that puts a significant time delay on the project, not to mention the cost of manufacturing and installing the seals themselves. By listening to the needs of the customer, Omniseal Solutions™ ensures that both the company and the customer are ahead of the competition, staying environmentally conscious and leading the way in terms of market trends!
