Life Science: Rotary Lip Seals Applications

Description

Omniseal® rotary lip seals are used in equipment requiring FDA cleared materials, with hygienic motors seals in pharmaceutical mixers, pharmaceutical pill compactors. These demanding applications require very low seal frictional drag to keep temperatures cool. In addition to being FDA compliant, seals must be free of cavities to trap materials being sealed and be compatible with acids and bases and cleaners, as well as handle high pressure wash-down and pass IP69K testing.

Depending on the type of Rotary Lip Seal, the solution can be used across a broad range of dynamic rotary sealing applications in lubricated and non-lubricated environments, including extreme temperature applications.

Applications include:

  • General purpose, lubricated and non-lubricated (10, 20 series)
  • Extreme temperature (10 series)
  • Abrasive media and gas sealing (20, 10 series)
  • High speed with positive media exclusion via threaded lip (30, 80 series)
  • Low torque, environmental and dust exclusion (50, 20 series)
  • Shaft runout and bore/shaft misalignment (60, 20 series)
  • Medium-to-high pressure hydraulics (30 series)
  • High pressure hydraulics (70 series)
