Polymer & Metal Sealing Business Acquisitions
Omniseal Solutions is a specialized engineering group, passionately dedicated to the design and manufacture of parts and systems that optimize sealing and wear control, with world-class integrated resources, specialized materials and relentless dedication.
L+S GmbH

Their materials have been combined with existing Meldin® thermoplastic materials solutions from Omniseal Solutions, which are available in compression or injection molded, machined components and basic shapes in order to provide the most added value in customization and design flexibility. These materials retain their critical properties over a temperature range from cryogenic through +316°C (+600°F) for continuous operation and may be used intermittently up to +482°C (+900°F).
Omniseal Solutions recently launched their new polyamide-imide (PAI) based Meldin® 4000 series, developed as a result of their collaboration with the acquired LS Kunststofftechnologie GmbH. Strengthening their polymer solution portfolio, this new series is part of their Meldin® product line, which includes the Meldin® 1000 and 5000 series, and complements their Meldin® 7000 thermoset polyimide material products.

Hycomp LLC

“Hycomp’s joining Saint-Gobain as part of Omniseal Solutions gives us the opportunity to broaden our portfolio of critical parts for high-temperature and long-life applications in aerospace and industrial applications,” said Jean Angus, CEO, Life Sciences at the time. “The Hycomp management team’s years of experience will help us to continue to make a material difference for our customers. The operation’s design, engineering and quality control processes, coupled with pioneering, advanced thermoplastic and thermoset manufacturing capabilities, have provided customers with unique, complex parts critical for demanding applications over the years. It’s a perfect fit for Saint-Gobain.”

American Seal & Engineering
Saint-Gobain acquired American Seal and Engineering Co. a global leader in providing technical solutions in the critical and extreme sealing industry. It designs and manufactures engineered resilient metal sealing solutions and sealing systems used in the transportation, energy and aerospace industries.

American Seal and Engineering has developed a unique and differentiated niche positioning over the years by providing tailor-made metal sealing solutions for extreme temperature and pressure to meet the requirements of the most stringent applications.
This acquisition is in line with Omniseal Solutions strategy of developing technological niches. The acquisition of American Seal and Engineering extends the company's product range by offering solutions for critical applications in the sealing industry. It will strengthen Omniseal Solutions position with customers in core markets and accelerate growth by using the company’s sales channels, notably in Aerospace.
Established in 1971, American Seal and Engineering employs just under 100 people globally, mostly in the United States.
