Polymer & Metal Seals Distribution For Nuclear Industry

Omniseal Solutions, a design engineering and manufacturer of precision sealing solutions and advanced materials for over 60 years, has established a new strategic distribution agreement with Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division for the distribution of Omniseal® polymer and metal sealing solutions, and polymer material components in the North American nuclear power plant market.

Currently, the nuclear power plant market in this region includes two reactors in Mexico, 19 in Canada, and 92 in the U.S., totaling 113 reactors across the continent. In the U.S. alone, these reactors are responsible for powering tens of millions of homes. Therefore, reliability and safety remain top priorities in these type of applications, which operate in several of the most hazardous environments in the industry today. Precision sealing solutions such as those engineered and manufactured by Omniseal Solutions are relied upon for sealing control as well as extreme technical requirements.

Dimitri Van Den Broeck, Business Manager- Nuclear & Science Research, said, “We are thrilled to embark on this collaborative journey with Curtiss-Wright Nuclear, supporting the exciting future of the nuclear industry. This powerful partnership will help us to engineer innovative solutions that will go beyond in safety, reliability, and efficiency. Through Omniseal Solutions’ technology advantage, customers benefit from cutting-edge sealing technologies that exceed expectations and uphold the highest industry standards, which ensure the utmost integrity and high performance in critical applications.”

Customers have used Omniseal® spring-energized seals and metal seals for a variety of critical industrial applications: reactor vessels, monitoring systems, control rods, pressurizers, heat exchangers, pipes and fittings, pumps, valves, actuators, and snubbers. As these sealing solutions are very versatile, they can handle a wide range of temperature and pressure as well as offering excellent chemical and radiological resistance.

“We are excited to partner with Omniseal Solutions to distribute their line of specialized metal and polymer seals. This agreement reinforces Curtiss-Wright’s commitment to innovation by bringing together the expertise and resources of both companies, fostering a collaborative environment where highly-engineered solutions can be realized. Not only does this agreement bring new technology to our markets but reinforces our commitment to safety and complete solutions for our customers,” said Mike Sheehan, Director of Curtiss-Wright’s AP Services business unit.
