Metal-C-Seal-Axial

Metal C-Seals Axial
C-Shaped Metal Seals For Axial Applications

Metal axial C-Seals help overcome both heat and pressure pulsating sealing challenges. The key to the seal's superior performance is the high springback characteristic due to the C-shaped construction. These highly resilient seals can be used for internal, external, and axial pressures under extreme conditions that preclude the use of gaskets made of organic materials.

Where very low leak rates are demanded, C-Seals are plated or coated to provide a relatively soft surface, which then flow into the minor imperfections of the flanges at installation.

Typical applications include heat exchanger in Oil & Gas, Laser Equipment, Cryo-coolers, Cask seals in nuclear waste, boss seals, injection molding, and aviation fuel and air systems.

Design

In the seal selection process, you should always keep in mind basic design criteria. There is a direct relationship between seal outer diameter (OD) and the seal free height. Larger free heights provide better resilience and performance tends to be more consistent.
